Have you been following along with the What’s in My Handbag series? I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed it myself.
I am super excited to introduce today’s guest Brooke, from All Things Thrifty.
I’ve “known” Brooke for what seems like forever, but I only just recently met her in person. She’s great! Narrowing down a couple of projects to feature isn’t easy with this one., but here are a few of my favorite…
1. Halloween pumpkins. Wow. Brooke and her husband are pumpkin carving fiends….Fortunately they are kind enough to share a few tips.
2. DIY Christmas ornament lamp. Need I say more?
3. Superhero art. I am such a sucker for boys projects and superheros.
4. Chair update. I would love to have Brookes reupholstering skills.
5. Entryway makeover. DYING. This is one of my favorite makeovers ever. I love this style. And the painted floor…
Hope you will pop over to Brooke’s site and check it out if you haven’t already!
What’s in My Handbag: All Things Thrifty
Hey Hey Peeps! I’m Brooke from over at All Things Thrifty and I am so pumped to be here today! When getting ready for this, I couldn’t decide whether I should “keep it real” or “stage” the items in my purse {ya know, specifically show you only the items that should be in my purse instead of the items that are in my purse}. I decided that keeping it real is the way to go! So here we goooo …..
First off, my purse is ALWAYS a mess. I know, I know, I should be more organized. It’s been on my New Years resolution list for three years in a row {ummm, yeah}. My purse tends to be the “catch all” of the family, so I hope you get a kick out of some of the items inside!
1. Baby Wipes: Good for just about anything! Noses, bums, carts, you name it!
I don’t go anywhere without them…. especially with 4 kiddos!
2. Hand sanitizer/keys: both very important items!
Also, I’m kind of a germaphobe so I always make sure to have it close.
3. Go-Go Squeeze: Just in case “someone” needs a quick snack!
4. Checkbook: I know! Ugh. I totally still write them…
Ya know, for eyelashes, Bunko, the essentials!
5. Fabric Swatch: I almost always have some piece of fabric in my bag,
especially when I have a project going on.
You never know when you’re going to need to match it to some fabulous find!!
6. Utah Shakespearean Playbill: I went to see a friend perform in Les Miserables at the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City. It was awesome!!
7. Wallet: Full. Of. Stuff. Seriously. I can’t even zip it closed. And I had just gotten back from a Costco trip so my card wasn’t even put away yet!
8. HUGE package of gum: (Please refer to #7.) Ha. Like I said… I just got back from Costco but wanted a piece on my way home so I just put the whole box in my purse. (See, keeping it real!)
**Side note, I don’t always keep a whole box in there… way too heavy!**
9. Lady Products: Man, you just never know when you might need one of these bad boys!
10. Hair elastic: For either me or one of my two girls.
11. Lip gloss: Victoria Secret Brand. My fav! I always try to hit one up whenever I’m in Vegas or Salt Lake since we don’t have one here in St. George, Utah where I live.
12. Pens: Duh! For when I have to write checks!
13. Flower clip: For those “Hurry you look like an orphan!” moments and need a quick hair fix!
14. Binky: I do not go far without this!! I know it‘s pink, and I have a baby boy but desperate times call for desperate measures people!
15. TJ MaxxReceipts and Kohl‘s Cash: My two favorite stores. No explanation needed!
16. Diapers: I swear every time I leave the house we have to track down a diaper-changing station!
Here’s a photo of my purse for all to see. My husband got it for me for my birthday over a year ago, and it’s still going strong!
xoxo, Brooke
I would love it if you would follow me on Facebook and Pinterest. You’ll never miss one of my projects that way!

Glad you kept it real lady!! Xoxo
Thank you for ‘keeping it real’. I now carry no shame, only a very heavy purse, haha!

Awesome! I am glad to see I am not alone. I often find myself cleaning out my wallet while standing in line at Target, etc. When you are a mama, anything can end up in your purse! Mine is usually stocked with Excedrin and granola bars. Ha ha!! Thanks for sharing all of your awesome knowledge and fun stuff!
