Mini Necktie Bunting

donut cake with bunting

My middle child Logan recently turned eight and was baptized a member of our church.  We had a little get-together with our family afterwards. It wasn't quite lunch time so I decided a light brunch would be fun. I chose a blue and aqua color scheme for the food table. One of Logan's favorite things is chocolate donuts so at the center of the table I created a donut cake and embellished it with a mini necktie bunting. I wanted to share how I made this cute little bunting - you could use it for a little man birthday party or any boy themed party, really. You only need a couple of things … [Read more...]

The Super Bowl is coming up in less than three weeks. It's Sunday, February 3rd, to be exact. Whether you're hosting the big game at your house or watching it somewhere else, finger foods and appetizers are usually the main attraction (besides the commercials, of course!), so I thought I'd share a yummy Super Bowl party appetizer for you to try. Chocolate Covered Football Oreo Pops

A couple of things mark the end of summer and the beginning of fall around our house (and I'm sure many of yours too), one of them is football. Whether it's football for the kids, in-state college rivalries, or even pro-football on Monday nights, it definitely signals a change in seasons here. I don't know what it is, but I'm a total sucker for the seasonal Oreos and when I spotted the football shaped ones at the grocery store, I knew I had to find a fun way to use them. I came up with a cool treat you can make for any occasion - football Oreo pops. Use them for a tailgating treat, Superbowl … [Read more...]

Back To School Pencil Holder Teacher Gift

I like to give a little gift to my kids' new teachers at the beginning of the year, just to let them know we're excited to have them as our teacher. I try to give something useful so I came up with a fun way to give something that is always needed in the classroom - pencils! I'm loving neon right now, so I decided to go with a neon color scheme for our gift idea, but obviously you can use whatever colors you would like. For this project you only need a few things: a tin can, kraft paper, washi tape and pencils. I would recommend a 14.5 oz tomato can (or similar) to hold the pencils. … [Read more...]
