Mini Necktie Bunting

donut cake with bunting

My middle child Logan recently turned eight and was baptized a member of our church.  We had a little get-together with our family afterwards. It wasn't quite lunch time so I decided a light brunch would be fun. I chose a blue and aqua color scheme for the food table. One of Logan's favorite things is chocolate donuts so at the center of the table I created a donut cake and embellished it with a mini necktie bunting. I wanted to share how I made this cute little bunting - you could use it for a little man birthday party or any boy themed party, really. You only need a couple of things to … [Read more...]

Party Trend: Tissue Tassels

Tissue tassels and garlands have been on the party scene for a few years now, but they continue to be a popular party accessory. There are many online tutorials if you want to try making one yourself for your next event. I've gathered a few traditional and some unique ways to use tissue tassels to dress up your party. Superbowl appetizer

The Super Bowl is coming up in less than three weeks. It's Sunday, February 3rd, to be exact. Whether you're hosting the big game at your house or watching it somewhere else, finger foods and appetizers are usually the main attraction (besides the commercials, of course!), so I thought I'd share a yummy Super Bowl party appetizer for you to try. For New Year's Eve we went to a friend's house and I made a delicious red velvet cheese ball that you may have seen on Pinterest. It was a huge hit with everyone, so I thought I'd make a variation for the Super Bowl party or any football party—a … [Read more...]

Handmade Gift Wrap Ideas

Handmade gift wrap kraft box

One of the things I love most about Christmas is the presents - not necessarily receiving presents, but I like to choose just the right gift for each person and then wrap it up beautifully! I enjoy picking out pretty paper, finding colorful matching ribbon, adding the perfect gift tag and embellishments to the gift. Today I wanted to share some fun handmade gift wrap ideas using simple kraft boxes, making those special gifts even more beautiful! For this gift wrapping idea, my two secret weapons included a large pencil that I found at my trusty 'ol Walmart and some gold ink. (P.S. … [Read more...]

I love to use place cards at parties and especially for special occasions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas since you usually have large family gatherings for these holidays.
