Once you have your tags downloaded you can open them in a program like Word, Publisher, or Photoshop to print.  For best quality when printing these 8.5 x 11″ printables would be best on Matte Photo Paper if you have it, this helps the color print more accurately.  Just be sure to change your printer settings for that media type.  No worries if you don’t have Matte Photo Paper, white card stock will also work great or sending the file to your local print shop to be printed.

If for some reason you’re not a baker or get busy this holiday season just add one of these cute tags or labels to your store bought goodies for a personal touch.

Back to School Teacher Gift Idea

Hi friends! Rebecca, from The Crafted Sparrow, here today.

I know most of you are just getting ready to start your back to school prep, we actually started school last week.  One of my favorite things to do at the end of each summer is to shop for school supplies.  I love all the bright colors, it just makes me so happy.  I also love giving a gift to our new teachers on the first day of school, something fun and useful to them in the classroom.  Today I’m sharing this fun Back to School Teacher Gift Idea with you.

Back to School Teacher Gift IdeaHighlighters and neon colored markers have to be one of my favorite school supplies!  They make the perfect little gift idea to give teachers on the first day of school!

Supplies:
Scissors
Matte Photo Paper, or white cardstock
Highlighters, or neon colored markers
Free Printables found HERE
Ribbon, or bakers twine

Back to School Teacher Gift IdeaBegin by DOWNLOADING and printing the Free Printable Tags HERE.

For best printing quality, I always recommend using a white matte photo paper to print on.  No worries if you don’t have any, white cardstock will also work great.  Once you’ve downloaded the tag you can size it to fit your gift in a program like Word, Publisher, or Photoshop.

Then just cut out your tags with scissors or a paper cutter.

Back to School Teacher Gift IdeaEither attach the fun tag to a cute package with the highlighters inside like this or tie a cute ribbon around your highlighters in a bundle and add your tag.

That’s it, now you’re ready to greet that new teacher with a fun gift – they’ll be so touched that you thought of them.

Teacher Appreciation Printables

Teacher Appreciation PrintablesHi friends, Rebecca here from The Crafted Sparrow!  I don’t know about you, but I usually have really great intentions when it comes to planning something fun for Teacher Appreciation Day and then it almost always sneaks up on me and I’ve got nothing done so I’m scrambling last minute to put something together.  This year I am happy to say that I am ready and it’s thanks to these great Teacher Appreciation Printables I made.

Gift cards are the best and are becoming one of my favorite gifts to give, they are a quick purchase and let’s be honest most teachers are secretly wishing for gift cards!  I thought it would be fun this year to provide our teachers with a free meal.  With the end of the year quickly approaching, I know their schedules get just as crazy as ours and who doesn’t love it when someone else cooks dinner for us?!

One of our favorite places to eat is Pei Wei Asian Diner and Pf Changs so I created these fun printables to go with their gift cards.

Teacher Appreciation PrintablesSupplies:

  • Free printables found HERE
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Gift cards
  • Double sided tape or tape runner
  • Twine or ribbon, optional

You will need to download the free printables found HERE, just click on the highlighted link to open the PDF file for downloading and printing.

Print your cards on matte photo paper for best printing quality, but if you don’t have any white cardstock works just fine.

Cut your cards using scissors or a paper cutter.

Adhere the gift cards with a tape runner or double sided tape to the designated area on the card.

Optional:  Add some cute twine or ribbon around the whole card.

Teacher Appreciation PrintablesYou can also pair these gift cards with some fun chocolate dipped fortune cookies for a little something extra.  You can usually find fortune cookies in any grocery store in the international food isle.

Valentine’s Hearts & Stripes Wood Banner

Valentine's Hearts & Stripes Wood BannerHello friends.  Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I’ve started decorating my entry way and as usual I’m sticking to non-traditional colors.  This Valentine’s Hearts & Stripes Wood Banner is the first project I’m sharing from my decor this year.

I love using non-traditional colors when it comes to Valentine’s Day.  Who says it has to be all red and pink?  One of my favorite things this past year has been black and white stripes, and my love for them isn’t going anywhere.  I also know how popular gold still is in decor, so I paired the two up for a lovely combination.

Supplies:

Wood pennant banner, you can find them online at Consumer Crafts or The Wood Connection and in most craft stores.
Jute twine or bakers twine
Acrylic paint, black & white
Gold spray paint
Masking / Painters tape
Vinyl hearts stencil, or heart stickers

Valentine's Hearts & Stripes Wood Banner

Valentine's Hearts & Stripes Wood BannerStart by painting all your wood pieces white.  You should need about two coats.

Once they are dry apply the masking / painters tape stripes to some of them.  To the rest you can apply a vinyl hearts stencil that you can create using a vinyl cutting machine. If you don’t have one you can use stickers, or even masking tape with a small heart punch and just apply to the wood pennant piece.

Valentine's Hearts & Stripes Wood BannerPaint two coats of black paint on your striped wood pieces and let dry.

While the striped pieces are drying go outside and using gold spray paint give your heart wood pieces a couple of quick coats of paint.  Let dry.

Once everything is dry you can assemble your banner on jute twine or bakers twine.

Valentine's Hearts & Stripes Wood BannerHang your Valentine’s Hearts & Stripes Wood Banner and you’re done.  Isn’t it so pretty?!  I love that this banner can be used anytime of the year, not just for Valentine’s Day.  It would be darling in a little girls room, or even in a craft room / office.

Want to know a secret?  You can also flip the whole thing over and paint the other side a totally different theme / or color palette and make this wood banner double duty!
