I find that must see tv (Academy Awards, Super Bowl, season finales) generally have at least one redeeming quality…They’re always a good excuse to throw a party!
There’s still time to invite a few friends over to celebrate Oscar night this year, particularly when there are so many great pre-prepared printables and Academy Award decor ideas available at your fingertips.
I adore the black and white details showcased in this party at Twig and Thistle:
You can pick up the invitation, ballot, statuette and several other great details, all for free.
If you’re not in love with the black and white like I am, you could pick up Twig and Thistle’s 2010 party.
If you’re going gold, download the Academy Awards official nominee list.
Easy to print and totally in order.
Yellow is such a happy color. I love the party Hostess with the Mostess put together last year.
Some of the printable items could easily be reused this year.
Super low-key and simple, no?
Who doesn’t love Bakerella? It would be un-blog-American…Of course she’s got ideas that would be just perfect for an Academy Awards party.

Do you watch the Oscar’s every year? I must admit, we typically record and watch it after the kids go to bed…I sort of miss the days when the Academy Awards warranted a big party with lots of friends over. Maybe when the boys are a bit older?
Oh and in case you’re wondering…If you spray paint Aunt Jemima gold, she makes an excellent Oscar statuette!
