Each week when I sit down to write my recap, I am always amazed at how days have simply zipped by. It actually seems to be moving faster now that school is back in session.
A couple of week’s ago I mentioned I’ve been having some health problems. Thankfully my dear friend Lara, recommended the most fabulous doctor (he even matched my bandage to my dress – that’s a good doc). I am visiting weekly and I am super-excited that he thinks I will be doing much better by the end of the year. Yahoo!
There’s nothing better than fun mail. Last week I was super excited to get my brand spanking new Gussy Sews camera strap and a new necklace from my friend Jenna’s shop Neon and Nude. I am happy to report that both items have already been put to use!
Do you have a favorite handmade shop? If so, I would love to have you share it with everyone in the comments…
We celebrated the last weekend of freedom from school at our local amusement park – Lagoon – where I learned I am much older than I realized…Sigh. Who knew that you grow into getting a little queasy on rides?!
We marked the first day back with a delightful dinner featuring every kind of crepe. How did I not know that crepes were so easy to make? We seriously LOVE burritos and since crepes are like the burrito of France, I think that they may become as permanent as Taco Tuesdays!
How do you celebrate back to school at your house? Oooh, and share links if you’ve got ’em. I have always loved NieNie’s back-to-school posts. They are my favorite.
Show and Tell Highlights
I do believe that Wednesday is turning into one of my favorite days of the week. I absolutely love to see what you’ve been up to. Here are a few of the projects I loved from last week…
With three boys around the house, I am always a sucker for a good BOY project. I love Michelle’s (The Scrap Shoppe) fresh take on the superhero birthday party invite. She’s also got a tutorial on how to shorten envelopes to coordinate.
We’re sticking with the same colors for this pretty feature – a lovely embellished burlap pillow from The Golden Sycamore.
This ombre dresse, from First Lady of the House, is simply amazing. It really is one of the best ombre projects I’ve seen. Love it.
I am so excited for fall, I think I am going to die…I love all of the Halloween projects that art starting to pop up. This DIY Halloween door mat, from the DIY Village, is fab.
I really shouldn’t view the links while I am hungry. Seriously gets me every time and since I can’t eat one of the yummy creations posted, I usually eat a little junk food. Speaking of junk food, it’s not bad if its made from scratch, right? These microwaved potato chips, from Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom, look right up my alley.
Here’s another one that got me…Chocolate Raspberry Sugar Cookie Tarts, from It’s Always Autumn. Seriously, don’t these look delicious?
What a brilliant idea. Steph, from Crafting in the Rain, has turned an old camper into a detached office for her husband. Extra space, no distractions. Now I am thinking I need a little vintage craft trailer (and the space to put it in).
