Caramel Apple Pie Dip + Pie Crust Chips

Caramel Apple Pie Dip via #recipe #applepie #appetizer #dessert #dip

I have been craving apple pie for at least two months. Really. It all started when I watched Joy the Baker make an apple pie with my very own eyes. Brief side note. If you don't know about Joy the Baker, you must go to her site. Seriously. It's like sweet heaven.  I might have moved on, but we didn't host Thanksgiving this year and I seriously grieved the lack of left over pie for a full week. What's a girl to do? Make herself an apple pie. What's a somewhat lazy girl, with the need to create a dip for the annual dip and ugly sweater party to do? Create a dip recipe that tastes just like … [Read more...]

Gingerbread Popcorn Recipe

Gingerbread Popcorn Recipe via SNAP!

Today I am smooshing a few of my FAVORITE holiday snacks together and sharing them with you in the form of a super-yummy treat! We're making GINGERBREAD POPCORN! It seems to me the holiday traditions that really endure are typically the most simple ones. There are few things more pervasive in holiday history than popcorn (think strings decorating the tree) and gingerbread (oh the smell...sigh). Growing up my mom had a special gingerbread recipe that was on regular rotation during the holidays and now I like to make at least one batch of gingerbread every year. When I saw a recipe for … [Read more...]

Easy Gingerbread Cookie Recipe

Easy Gingerbread Cookies via SNAP!

My Mom loves Christmas. She doesn't love Christmas like other moms. She REALLY LOVES CHRISTMAS. Like, at one point we regularly had four trees spread throughout the house. Not baby trees. Nope. One of the trees was 12 feet tall (I think that one has finally been retired this year). She's the best mom. With all of those trees there was at least one set of new ornaments created each year. One of my favorite tree designs has always been strings of popcorn and cranberries, cinnamon stick bundles and gingerbread. Here's the thing. My mom is a better at everything baker than I. … [Read more...]

DIY Microwave Popcorn

Microwave Popcorn via SNAP! 1

Good heavens. I am the biggest sucker for treats (baked goods, not candy) you will ever meet and this time of year just kills me! This past week as I tried to avoid all of the treats associated with Halloween, I was trying to make a list of healthy snacks I could eat without worrying as much about the calories. Honestly? One of my favorite munchies is popcorn and so adding it to the list was a no-brainer. Did you know that simple air-popped popcorn is only 33 calories a cup?! Seriously, how awesome is that? I don’t have a popcorn popper and I am not ready to try oil popping on the … [Read more...]

Margherita Pizza

margherita pizza recipe

Raise of hands...who loves pizza?  It is very rare to find a person that doesn't like a delicious slice of pizza hot out of the oven.  But, I will tell you a secret, I don't really care for pizza...well unless it is really good pizza.  The crust has to be perfectly cooked, the toppings have to be fresh, and you can see where I am going with this.  When I want pizza I want it to be good. One of my favorite kinds of pizza is a delicious margherita pizza with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.  But, how often do you come across that at your local pizza delivery place?  I have found that … [Read more...]

Easy Apple Brie Pastry

When I was in college I was active in student government. The campaigns we ran were pretty tame...Today? Well, I might find them slightly laughable. While our counterparts at other universities were tackling issues like underage drinking and sorority fights, we had bigger fish to fry... One such issue? Students were cutting across corners of the lawn, creating damaged "paths" in the grass. (Shock and awe to ensue!) Yes, that's right. We were tasked with addressing the lovely green lawn. I don't know who came up with the the campaign we were tasked with implementing, but well? What … [Read more...]

Summer Treats

Oh my friends, the heat of this summer has nearly killed me. Not good indeed. What better way to further ruin said diet than oogling over and sharing some seriously yummy looking sweet frozen summer treats. Open-Faced S’mores

Open-Faced S'mores via SNAP!

We're big fans of S'mores around here...Big fans. And, it's fun, to try different versions. I've shared our yummy mini S'mores donuts and grown up S'mores. Today I am sharing open-faced S'mores. I am sure you're starting to think that the only thing I stock in the pantry is chocolate and marshmallows (it might be partially true), but this is a recipe we all really enjoyed. It really helps that this is a super-easy one. This version starts with a large fudge cookie purchased from the store. If you wanted to truly be gourmet, you could actually dip graham crackers in chocolate...I am not … [Read more...]
