When I first started blogging, about 75 percent of my content was made up of HGTV Design Star recaps and my excitement over receiving the lastest catalog from Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma/West Elm.
Did you ever do that?
Today’s post has a bit of a nostalgic feel in that regard, but instead of sharing news of the latest catalog, I am entirely excited to be chatting about my visit to Salt Lake City’s brand new West Elm location at City Creek.
To say that I find inspiration at West Elm would be an understatement for sure. The store maintains the perfect balance between rough and refined, natural and modern.
Walk into the fabulous new store and you’re welcomed by an inviting living space.
Loved the fixtures filled with ombre blankets, dip dyed pillows and unique vases. The color was just amazing…
I am of the mindset that you can never have too many nice blankets.
And, you can never have too many pieces on hand for entertaining…
Walk into the kitchen section and the warmth continues, with a unique, collected feel.
From mugs to measuring cups, there were fun little owls tucked away everywhere.
But perhaps my favorite were the modern bowls tucked up in the wall fixtures…
I purchased a few and they will be making an appearance on the site at some point. I am especially taken by the gray ones…Aren’t they GORGEOUS?!
The bedroom furnishings are top notch. I loved the “grown up” kids look.
And the mid-century modern nightstand…
There’s also a great bathroom/powder room section.
I picked up the cutest little zippered accessory bag for only $9 – a steal!
I am actually going to use it to help organize my bag…The What’s in My Handbag series is making me feel like a mess!
The store has an incredible array of eclectic, handmade-style items – from the gifts that give back table to paper flowers and a wide array of artwork.
The new West Elm store at City Creek is one of the first to stock and sell ETSY items from local Salt Lake City area artists. Such a great way to give back, don’t you think?!
But, perhaps my favorite was the holiday display area. I am in LOVE with the mixture of gold, rose and silver pieces…
I may be adding a bit of rose colored glass to the standard white, silver and gold this holiday season.
Is there a West Elm in your neck of the woods?
West Elm provided me with a sneak peek and a small shopping spree at their new City Creek location in Salt Lake City. West Elm at City Creek opens Thursday, Oct. 11. I was under no obligation to write about the new store. I chose to share the news with you because I am absolutely thrilled with it.
