Welcome guests to your home with this pretty, modern spring wreath.
We’ve advanced so far into the month of May, I hesitated to post the tutorial for this modern spring wreath. It’s been so warm, I thought for a moment the opportunity for spring posts might have come and gone.
Perhaps it has in the rest of the country, but here in Utah Mother Nature is still trying to determine what time of year it is. We’ve gone from 86 degrees right back down into the 40’s and the weather man is predicting snow for tomorrow. Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about that…
In any event, it appears that it’s still too early to move onto summer so you’re getting a spring wreath tutorial today.
Modern Spring Wreath
The idea for this wreath came whilst wandering the isles of Hobby Lobby. They were having a spring flower sale and I just couldn’t resist some of the pretty blooms in stock. Once I’d picked out a bunch, I got to work nabbing the additional supplies. I left the store for less than $30, which may not sound like much to you, but Hobby Lobby is one of those stores I get into trouble at ALL THE TIME.
Extra Large Embroidery Hoop – you can snag a similar version on Amazon for a SUPER price too.
Craft Paint – I used DecoArt’s Soft Coral
Dual Temp Glue Gun
I was able to pick up all of the items (excluding the glue gun I already owned) for about $30.
Once I’d pulled together all the supplies, this project came together in a snap. I started by separating the embroidery hoop I had into two pieces (one to use, one to save for a future wreath project).
I painted one piece a nice peachy coral. I love working with acrylic craft paint, because it dries so quickly.
I arranged the flowers loosely around the hoop to ensure I liked how things looked.
Once I had most of the items in place, I glued it all down with a hot glue gun.
Simple as that!
The whole project took about 15 minutes from start to finish and this modern spring wreath provides a fantastic welcome on my front door!
